Une Vraie Gothique (A True Goth) is a French dark electronic duo composed of Ulrika and Ferdinand Legendre.
Navigating between literal and figurative meanings, the duo, formed in 2023, pays homage to the Electro-goth scene, sings in German and French, and modestly proposes to drown the world in a torrent of darkness.
The apparent simplicity of the highly poetic and evocative lyrics, combined with the straightforward effectiveness of the heavily referenced music (EBM, Dark Electro), is a tribute to the youthfulness of these still young artists, goths in the making, searching for themselves, discovering themselves. Discovering a multifaceted universe, as dark as it is luminous, with rich imagery and numerous cultural references.
The cliché of the cursed French poet that meet the German witch with her lyrical and bewitching incantations after a solitary youth spent appart. In oder to create something quite daring for a rather proud, critical, demanding audience, which quickly becomes accustomed to clichés and clone bands. But who are not necessarily used to dealing with taking a step back, sincere and honest irony, self-mockery, and the simple desire to become “A True Goth”.
