Raskolnikov

Raskolnikov is a Swiss-Spanish-French trio formed in 2015.
The name of the band refers to the protagonist Rodion Raskolnikov in Fedor Dostoevsky’s social-psychological-philosophical novel “Crime and Punishment”.
It’s a mix of the dark and floating universe of coldwave, mixed with the rebellious energy of post-punk and the melodic density of shoegaze.
A penetrating voice accompanies the music, communicating open-ended questions from a first-person perspective, about destruction, anger, obsession, oblivion, regression, fear, failure, pain, regret, downfall and loss of self, but not without references to hope.

The first 7-track album, “Hochmut kommt vor dem Fall”, was released in 2017.
The second 10-track album, “Lazy people will destroy you”, was released in 2020.
A live album was recorded in 2021 and released with the title “Don’t want to die of boredom today”.
The third album will be released in 2024.
